Lil Pump is currently a free agent. The South Florida rapper was only 16 when he signed with Warner Bros. and it was never certified by the court. Sources tell Billboard that attorney John Branca recently sent a letter to Warner Bros. on Pump’s behalf. The letter points out the age and certification issues and asserts that the deal is nullified because of them.
Now that he is a free agent, the rapper could either stay independent or receive offers from other labels. He is in a good position because his breakout single “Gucci Gang” peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. His self-titled album and No. 2 launched at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, moving 46,000 equivalent album units in its first week.
Pump’s management team, Tha Lights Global, and Warner Bros. declined to comment on this matter. Stay tuned.
